2.17. Check of high-voltage wires, begunka and distributor covers

GENERAL INFORMATION

Characteristic defects of a cover of the distributor
1. Breakage on turrets of wires

2. Cracks

3, 5. Breakdown

4. Erosion of electrodes

6. Wear of a piece of coal

Characteristic defects begunka
1. Loss of elasticity of a spring

2. Contact corrosion

3. Zadevaniye for a cover

4. Cracks

High-voltage wires of spark plugs should be checked (and if necessary to change) at the same time with replacement of candles.

The simplest way of check consists in survey of wires on the working engine in the blacked-out garage. At detection of a luminescence (breakdown) of a wire replace. Check a condition of a cover and a distributor begunka.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery from weight.
2. For check and cleaning of wires disconnect each wire separately.
3. Disconnect a wire from a candle, holding a tip.
4. Check corrosion existence on the socket of a tip of a wire and on a candle electrode. Check durability of demountable connection, having dressed on a candle a tip of a wire and having shaken it. At leaky connection draw in contact petals.
5. Wipe wires. A wire strongly do not bend, as the current-carrying vein can break. At detection of cracks, traces of breakdown and a podgoraniye of a wire replace.
6. Disconnect a wire on a cover of the distributor and check a condition of contacts of wires and sealants.
7. Unscrew fastening screws (or wring out brackets) and uncover the ignition distributor.
8. Wipe a cover absolutely and check existence in and outside of a cover of cracks, traces of superficial breakdown (the thin charred paths), wear, a podgoraniye and weakening of contacts. At detection of such defects a cover and a begunok replace.
