10.16. Air removal from a hydraulic actuator of brakes

GENERAL INFORMATION

For effective work of brakes it is necessary to remove air from a hydraulic actuator (to pump over brakes). Need of pumping arises after replacement of details of a hydraulic actuator of brakes. When dismantling a hydraulic actuator of one wheel it is possible to be limited to pumping only an understanding contour.

Air removal from all system of brakes is carried out in sequence: right back wheel, the left back, right forward, left forward.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Restore normal pressure in the vacuum amplifier of brakes for what press about 30 times a pedal on the stopped engine.
2. Uncover a tank and add liquid. When pumping watch liquid level, add liquid without allowing strong fall of level.

3. Unscrew the union of the right back wheel and slightly tighten. Attach to the union a hose, other end of a hose lower in a transparent vessel with brake liquid.
4. Ask the assistant to press several times a pedal of a brake and to hold. On cars with anti-blocking system it is necessary to press a brake pedal not less than 12 times (if special sets are applied to pumping by one person, be guided by the instruction attached to a set).
5. Unscrew the union and after the stream of liquid following with bubbles will weaken, tighten the union. Ask the assistant to release a pedal.
6. Repeat procedure until then while in following liquid vials will not cease to be observed. Tighten the union and check liquid level in a tank.
7. Execute these actions on other wheel cylinders in specified above sequence. Upon termination of restore liquid level in a tank. After pumping of brakes the pedal should be rigid.
