General characteristic of ignition

Carburetor engines or engines with system of injection of L-Jetronic Transistor bobbin system of ignition (further TCI system)

On models 320 since 1980. Contactless system
Ignition coil
  – resistance of primary winding:
     • TCI system 0,82 Ohm
     • DME system 0,50 Ohm
  – resistance of a secondary winding 9,0-15,7 kiloohms
     • TCI system 8,250 kiloohms
     • DME system
5–6 kiloohms
Distributor ignitions (TCI system):
  – A gap between a rotor and the sensor 0,3-0,7 mm
  – Resistance of the induction sensor 0,9-1,2 kiloohms
Corner of an advancing of ignition (TCI system, at the disconnected tube of a vacuum regulator on the distributor):
  – model 316, B18 M10/engine
25 ° to VMT at 2500 rpm (2900 rpm on cars with 09.1983)
  – model 318i, B18 M10/engine
30°до VMT at 3000 rpm
  – model 320i, B20 M20/engine
23 ° to VMT at 5000 ± 50 rpm
