11.1.9. Back shock-absorbers



Shock-absorbers are recommended to be changed in pair.

Removal and installation, replacement

1. Block forward wheels.
2. Lift a back part of the car and establish under the lever of a back suspension bracket the cart with a jack, having laid a board.
3. Unscrew a bolt of the bottom fastening of the shock-absorber.

4. For access to nuts of the top fastening on a part of cars it is required to remove a slip in a luggage carrier. On later models for access to nuts remove a back of a back seat. On the Touring (Estate) models remove a back of a back seat, the coil of natyazhitel of seat belts and uncover the hatch. On the Convertible models remove a niche covering behind passenger salon and get a rubber cover. Ask the assistant to hold the shock-absorber and unscrew nuts of the top fastening of the shock-absorber.
5. Check leak existence through an epiploon of a rod of the shock-absorber. Check a condition of plugs in an earring of the bottom fastening, at detection of cracks, wear and hardening of rubber of the plug replace. Check a course of a rod of the shock-absorber. The rod should move with considerable resistance and without jammings. Otherwise the shock-absorber replace.
6. Installation is carried out upside-down, however, bolts and nuts tighten with the set moment only after suspension bracket "pumping".
