1.1.31. Actions at a wheel puncture

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Reduce smoothly speed, without changing the movement direction. Curtail on a roadside, stop on an equal platform with a firm covering.

2. Stop the engine and include signals of an emergency stop.

3. Transfer the lever to situation P (on automatic transmission) or include a backing (on mechanical transmission), put the car on the hand brake.

4. Ask passengers to leave the car.

5. Strictly observe the following security measures when using a jack:

  – act according to the instruction attached to a jack;
  – a jack to use only for car lifting at wheel change;
  – it is forbidden to climb under the car when it is lifted on a jack;
  – it is forbidden to start the engine when the car is lifted on a jack.
