9.17. CV JOINTS and covers

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

The manufacturer in the spare part delivers cutting covers of CV JOINTS which are established without semi-axis removal after cutting of an old cover. However it is recommended to remove a semi-axis and to clear the hinge that will prolong term of its service. In this case establish an integral cover.

The external CV JOINT changes with a semi-axis, the internal hinge changes separately. It is recommended to replace, however, a semi-axis assembled.

Check and replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Covers are checked by smoothing and a perekruchivaniye. Existence on a cover of traces of greasing and anguishes is not allowed. Replace the hinge at detection in it notable люфта.
2. Remove a semi-axis.

3. Remove collars of big and small covers of CV JOINTS.
	4. Bring down a hinge cap.
	5. Remove a big lock ring.
	6. Carefully knock on a semi-axis and remove the CV JOINT.
7. Remove covers of hinges.
8. Clear hinges of the remains of greasing and check their condition. If on the hinge there are appreciable signs of wear, replace a semi-axis.
	9. Wrap up shlitsa a tape.
	10. Carefully напрессуйте hinge.

11. Put greasing, having filled hinge cavities.
	12. Dress a cover and fix a small collar, the collar is tightened by the special adaptation.
	13. Bend the collar terminations.
14. Fill a cover with greasing and establish a cap. Dress a big collar and fix.
15. Establish a semi-axis.
