In this management the term "additional maintenance" belongs to set of carried-out works, instead of to concrete procedure. If from the moment of acquisition of the new car in accuracy to observe a maintenance order, to carry out frequent checks of level of liquids and details subject to the strengthened wear, at the engine high operational qualities and volume of additional works will remain will be minimized.
Irregular maintenance can become the main reason for abnormal operation of the engine. Especially it concerns the engine acquired not the new car which was not exposed to regular checks. In such cases besides periodic maintenance, it is necessary to perform additional adjustment works.
Any kind of works on maintenance, or search of the reason of abnormal operation of the engine should be begun with compression check in cylinders. Compression check in cylinders gives valuable information relatively the general condition of many details of the internal device of the engine which can be used as fundamental both for the current maintenance, and for repair procedures. If, for example, a compression such is that strong wear of the engine is obvious, routine maintenance will not lead to restoration of normal operational qualities and all works will be reduced to an excessive waste of time and money.
