2.14. Check and adjustment of turns and quality of a mix (FROM) idling

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

Before check the engine should be heated-up, the moment of ignition is adjusted, and gaps in valves to correspond to norm (except for self-regulating valves). All consumers should be disconnected.

Carburetor engines

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Connect a tachometer and a gas analyzer.
2. Warm up the engine and transfer to idling.
	3. Adjustment of turns is allowed only on carburetors 2В4. The special screw (in the photo) is for this purpose provided.
4. If on the engine with the carburetor 2 turns low and conducting is serviceable, to raise them it is possible connection of the additional resistor in a management chain (it is carried out in BMW car-care center).
	5. Quality of a mix is regulated by the special screw (it is specified by figure 2).

System of injection of L-Jetronic

The special tester is necessary for check WITH which sensor is rolled in a final collector (is allowed to use the analyzer with a probe which is entered into an exhaust pipe, however on models with converter this device will not give acceptable results).

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Turns of idling are regulated by the screw on a throttle branch pipe (previously it is necessary to remove a screw cap).
2. Quality of a mix (WITH) is regulated by the screw on a stream measuring instrument a special key of BMW 13 1 060.

System of injection of Motronic

The special tester is necessary for check WITH which sensor is rolled in a final collector (is allowed to use the analyzer with a probe which is entered into an exhaust pipe, however on models with converter this device will not give acceptable results).

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If turns of idling differ from normal (adjustment is provided with automatically processor block), check tightness of a joint of an inlet collector and also an air regulator of idling.
2. Quality of a mix (WITH) is regulated by the screw on a stream measuring instrument a six-sided key.
	3. Remove a zagleshka of the adjusting screw on a stream measuring instrument.
	4. Adjust WITH.
5. Put a cap into place.
